This year’s Rock Concert will be remembered as a vintage year, with our students turning back time to perform some legendary songs of the 60s, 70s and 80s by artists including Michael Jackson, Herbie Hancock and Fleetwood Mac. The Richard Whiteley Theatre was rocking to its rafters with over twenty songs performed on the night to a lively, appreciative crowd.
The concert showcases the wide range of musical talent at Giggleswick and provides the opportunity for emerging musicians in Year 7 and 8 to perform alongside the more experienced sixth formers. It is also a chance for pupils to experience working and playing with a professional adult band.
Christian Madden, who played keyboard in the band, said “It's really inspirational to work with a group of young people with so much talent who really appreciate music and the opportunity perform. It was a great experience for everyone, both on stage and in the crowd.”
