Based on the edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, Giggleswick's beautiful countryside setting inspires a sense of freedom and spirit of adventure. Here you'll find 500 years of heritage carefully blended with exceptional modern facilities across our 200 acre campus.
We have invested £13m in new facilities over the last ten years to give the School the best possible classrooms, sports and arts facilities. This has included a £1.5 million sports hall, indoor climbing wall, purpose-built dining hall, the Glover Art Studio and the Richard Whiteley Theatre, which hosts a full programme of live productions, music and dance as well as being used for drama lessons and co-curricular clubs and societies. Our facilities are also available for hire throughout the year.
All Weather Pitch
Eshtons, the School’s synthetic Hockey pitch, is where most of our home matches take place and also features the Giggleswick sign used in our ‘human clock’ for the Tour de Yorkshire 2016.

We have seven boarding houses, each named after eminent figures in our history. All Houses are located within very short walks of the school’s main building and all of our facilities.
This sports hall also features a new state of the art climbing wall, installed in 2017, and is for activities that do not require space as large as our main Sports Hall. It overlooks Papes, our main sports field, and is equipped with changing rooms and toilets. It can be hired by clubs, teams and local schools, click here for more information.
The Chapel was the gift of Walter Morrison of Malham to commemorate the Diamond Jubilee of Queen Victoria. He commissioned T G Jackson, a leading architect of the time; work begun in 1897 and was completed in 1901. The architect’s challenge was to design a Gothic building with a dome (as specified by Morrison) and yet make it appear as if it were natural to the surroundings. It was also Morrison’s wish that the building should be finished and furnished in every respect, leaving no room for subsequent intrusion of possibly unsympathetic work, and so the Chapel has become a rare instance of a building in which every detail has been completed and designed by, or under direction of, the same person.
The dining hall is a vibrant, social area that provides 280 covers. Award-winning caterers Holroyd Howe serve up breakfast, lunch and dinner, preparing fresh meals from the professional kitchen.
Mountain Bike Trail
Our 1.2 mile Mountain Bike Trail takes in some beautiful scenery. It can also be hired by small groups click here for more information.

Lighting and sound equipment has been specified with this in mind and the latest technology employed to achieve the best results. The theatre can also be hired. Click here for more information.
The shooting range overlooks stunning grounds and is used under supervision by members of our Combined Cadet Force.
