Our Upper Sixth Form pupils celebrated the end of an era as they joined friends, family and staff for a glittering Leavers’ Ball on Friday. The black tie evening was a glamorous occasion with everyone sharing happy memories of their time at school. Over 180 guests enjoyed a fabulous three course dinner with entertainment provided by magician Andrew Green and dancing to Leeds based pop band, ‘Dirty Beach’.
Jane Farmer, a leaver herself after 24 years teaching at Giggleswick, was a most fitting proposer of the toast to the leavers. With predictable wit and charm, Mrs Farmer advised the leavers what not to do with their lives but above all urged them to go out and do good. Speeches were also given by the Heads of School, Alice Stephens and Tom Russell, who celebrated their successes as a year group and also reflected on the lifelong lessons that will stay with them as they move on.
We wish them the best of luck for the future and look forward to welcoming them back to Giggleswick events and reunions very soon.
