St Paul’s Cathedral provided a stunning backdrop for this year’s London Drinks, with around 100 OG’s, parents, staff and friends of the school gathering for the annual event, hosted at Gateley’s LLP Roof Terrace at Paternoster Square.
It was a wonderful opportunity for Giggleswickians old and new to meet up with friends and catch up with all the latest news from school. It didn’t seem to matter whether you were a 1953 leaver or a 2015 leaver, the warmth and laughter of times shared at Giggleswick soon echoed around the room, across the square and no doubt across to the Whispering Gallery too!
Richard Warburton, OG, parent and President of the OG Club took the opportunity to connect with our London-based OGs, accompanied by Tom Coxon, our new Young Governor and the Headmaster, Mr Turnbull.
During the evening Mr Turnbull addressed the friends gathered to provide an update on all the latest developments at school, including the multi-million pound redevelopment of our boarding facilities and ambitious plans for the future including local partnerships, commercial opportunities and international expansion.
Mr Turnbull said “It is always such a pleasure to reconnect with our alumni across the years and bring together the wider Giggleswick community too. There is a real buzz among our southern friends and a real appetite among them to develop their own London-based group, to give them even more opportunities to get together throughout the year, which is great news.”
Huge thanks and birthday greetings to OG, Rod Waldie, a Partner and Head of Gateley’s Northern Office, who kindly facilitated use of Gateley’s wonderful facilities and hospitality for the event.
