Pupils raise money for charity at ball

The annual Carr House Charity Ball took place on Saturday after being postponed last term due the ‘Beast from the East’. It was certainly worth the wait with 148 guests from Years 8 to 11 enjoying a wonderful evening, raising money for two very worthy charities.

Carr Sixth Form, who played a significant role in the organisation of the event, set a space theme and dressed as stars and aliens, before doing a fantastic job waiting on guests. They also chose the two recipients of the money raised - Place2B and Make a Wish.

Carr Housemistress, Hannah Wright, said: “It was great to see everyone have a great time and I am pleased we have been able to raise money that will benefit two deserving causes. A big thank you to the catering department for the delicious food, in particular the piñata cake filled with M&Ms, and to those that helped make the event a success.
