About Us

The Richard Whiteley Theatre was built in 2010 and is named after TV presenter and Old Giggleswickian Richard Whiteley who, at the time of his death, was believed to have clocked more hours on British television screens - and more than 10,000 appearances - than anyone else alive, apart from Carole Hersee, the young girl who appeared on the BBC's Test Card.

The theatre seats over 200 and is equipped with the latest technical facilities to enable state of the art sound and lighting design alongside fantastic productions. The theatre is on the campus of Giggleswick School but the majority of events are open to the public. The programme ranges from touring companies of different genres, to films and school productions. The theatre is also available to hire.
