Community of Giggleswick School Scarrig -  29 February 2020

Have you ever wished you could run Scarrig again, or improve on your School time?

 

OGs, parents, former parents, staff, former staff and friends of the School, are invited to take part in the first annual Community of Giggleswick School Scarrig event. 

 

The race will follow the same course as the school, (please see below map, as the course route changed in 2019), with the option to either complete the full course (2 laps), or half a course (1 lap).

 

Distances

1 Full lap = 3.06km / 1.9 miles with a 56m ascent

2 Full laps = 5.23km / 3.25 miles with a 112m ascent

 

The race will take place directly before the main school race, starting at 12:30pm.

A light lunch will be provided for all runners following the race along with a prize giving ceremony in the Hobson Room.

 

Entrants will be competing as individuals, however, you will also amass points for your affiliated House, for which there will be a separate prize.

 

A small entry fee of £10 per person will cover administration costs, catering and a charitable donation split equally between the OG Club and Diabetes UK.

If you are unable to run Scarrig here at School, we are encouraging our community to run the 'Global Scarrig'.  All we ask is that you run the same distance on the same day.  If you can then send in your race details along with photographs on social media, we will share these with our School runners during lunch.  We would love to have people all over the world running their own Scarrig!
