Service in the Community

At Giggleswick we encourage all our pupils to get involved with, and support, the local community. Our Service at School scheme (S@S) helps place pupils in volunteer positions in the community where they can help make a real difference to the lives of others and also gain valuable life skills themselves.

Many pupils use their volunteering experiences to work towards their Duke of Edinburgh award. Some choose to volunteer to gain experience in a working environment that may relate to their chosen career; aspiring veterinary surgeons have helped at the local Pet Rescue Centre, aspiring medical students have volunteered at a local nursing home.
