This week Year 3 enjoyed a visit to Sizergh Castle where they journeyed along the Wild Trail completing riddles. The trail tested our pupils balance, stamina, resolve and brainpower and took them off the beaten track into the depths of the wood allowing them to experience ancient trees, exotic looking fungus and beautiful ground flora.
First, they had to climb, using hand grips before scurrying through a tunnel where they found a bird on a nest! After that they then had to abseil down a rocky cliff. It was fun but a bit tricky, however they were rewarded by finding a giant frog at the bottom. They then followed the path by following a rope and balancing on logs. They were then tasked with finding some roots in the air and a tree struck by lightning and also passed through giant wishbones. Following this, they travelled along the trail which then had wooden fencing on both sides and had to balance on a high log. Following under bats and birds, they found a rope swing and dens. After they had added branches and twigs to the dens and all had a go on the swing it was time to come back to school. A great afternoon was had by all!
