Lower sixth pupil Cressie Edmondson organised a concert for mental health charity Young Minds, with more than 20 performers taking to the stage in the Richard Whiteley Theatre, which raised £800.
Said Cressie: “We wanted to raise awareness for this amazing and relevant charity at the same time as challenging ourselves to overcome all the practical issues faced in putting together an evening like this.
“The concert was a great success thanks to a fantastic group effort from staff and pupils and as well as entertainment, there were refreshments and a raffle. Everyone enjoyed the jazz bar atmosphere and guests especially were amazed at the quality of the talent on show. Best of all was the amount we managed to raise. Thanks so much to everyone for their generosity and support.”
Young Minds is the UK’s leading charity championing the wellbeing and mental health of young people, using experience to create change so that children and young adults can cope with life’s adversities, find help when needed and succeed in life.
