The Department has three full-time staff, plus a resident ceramic artist, who works and teaches in the Department. There is a well-equipped ceramics studio, a vacuum silkscreen printing bed, plus facilities to make photo silkscreens, and a large etching press.The Sixth Form have the opportunity to work from a life model once a week, and there are regular trips to London to see galleries.
Art is a popular subject at GCSE and AS/A2 level and a substantial number of pupils continue on to Art College. Many of these students return to Giggleswick to give talks about their experiences.
There are regular staff, pupil, and Art scholars' exhibitions.
