The subject is taught at AS and A2 level. Topics covered include the price mechanism, environmental economics, Labour markets, inflation and unemployment.
Economics A2 level is highly regarded by Universities, and a sixth form qualification in the subject can make students going into banking and insurance exempt from certain examinations.
Economics sits easily alongside all sixth form subjects, particularly Mathematics. The Department follows the AQA syllabus. The subject is taught by two specialist full time teachers who teach only Business Studies and Economics. There is no coursework.
