In addition to the student’s notes on the registration form, teachers will start each course with a discussion of the student’s preferences. This will provide an opportunity to highlight potential gaps in knowledge and preferred learning styles.

Teachers can then begin to outline their approach based on specific needs and ability, working with individuals or small groups with a specific focus. A topic based approach is encouraged to ensure content is relevant with the school’s teachers experienced across a number of exam boards.

For more specific subjects, however, such as History and Religious Education, it is worth checking the proposed content in advance.
