Giggleswick makes every effort to ensure that international students are integrated into school life.
We have an International Student Counsellor who is responsible for co-ordinating a programme of events specifically to meet the needs of new and existing international students. These include induction sessions at the beginning of the year, weekly discussion periods about news and current affairs, trips to local places of interest twice a term on Sundays, interview practice (Sixth Form students), evening meals to mark festivals and celebrations (e.g Chinese New Year). When allocating places in boarding houses, we try to ensure that there are no more than two students of the same native tongue in each year group. This also affects the number of applications we accept from any overseas country each year, ensuring that the best possible British educational experience is provided for all students.
