Week 2
Week Two (30-3 August) a combination of all-day and half-day options
Hockey Masterclass
9 – 15 years (All-Day)
This popular course is perfect for those who want to improve their game with a top-level coach. Head coach is Hannah Bourne, who has representative honours for England at U16 and U18 age groups. She coaches both the Girls’ and Boys’ 1st XIs at Giggleswick School and North Yorkshire’s Y15/U16 sides. Our superb astro-turf provides an excellent surface for players to develop key skills and game awareness. The sessions will be specific to positional and game play, as well as general technical skills for both goalkeepers and outfield players.
Creative Artists
7 – 15 years (Morning Option)
Let our talented art teachers develop your creative thought and help you acquire new skills by working with different materials and using them in an innovative and expressive way. You will learn a range of new skills, including experimental drawing, painting, sculpture and ceramics.
Young Commandos and Bullseye
7 – 10 years (Morning Option)
You will learn the best way to build a weather proof shelter, how to make a camp fire and cook on it, discover camouflage and concealment techniques, find your way in the dark and spend a night camping out in the wilds of the Yorkshire Dales. Your commander has had many years’ experience leading Royal Marine cadets and will focus on teamwork, giving you a whole host of command tasks to improve your leadership and problem solving skills.
Outdoor Pursuits and Adventure
11 – 15 years (Morning Option)
Come and make the most of our spectacular Dales location and learn to use a compass, develop your map-reading and orienteering skills, try abseiling, scrambling and rock climbing. Giggleswick School is licensed by the Adventure Activities Licensing Authority and all instructors have the appropriate qualifications.
Afternoon Fun
7 – 15 years (Afternoon Option)
The afternoons will bring all our staff and students together to enjoy some larger group activities. The morning’s teachers, instructors and coaches will still be on hand to offer a wide range of fun group activities whilst having the added advantage of being able to cater for smaller groups who might prefer something different or quieter than the main event.
