Welcome

The Richard Whiteley Theatre is an exciting new venture in the heart of Giggleswick School and the local community.  Innovative use of an exisiting historic space has created a multi-purpose theatre and arts venue which we aim to fill with top quality drama, music, visual art, dance, film and exhibitions complementing and increasing the variety of performing arts already available in the area.

Giggleswick School has championed performing arts for many years, long before Richard Whiteley was a pupil here or Russell Harty his inspirational English teacher.  However, it was while they were both at the school that a space was created to stage public performance, and the new Richard Whiteley Theatre takes this on to another level.

The School has a strong reputation for drama and music.  In 2009 a group of pupils were invited to take part in the Sunday Times National Student Drama Festival in Scarborough, where, as the only school group, performing Sad Since Tuesday.

We look forward to seeing you soon at our new theatre, whether it be to a visiting theatre company, a school drama or music production, film or exhibition.
