Last free hockey coaching clinic of the school year is open to everyone

Free Hockey Coaching 1

Our free hockey coaching clinics will break for the summer holidays but we are urging anyone who would like to give hockey a go to come and have a try during the final session on Sunday 11 June. The sessions are open to all boys and girls aged 8 to 16. Hannah Wright, who is Head of PE and Hockey at the school is driving the initiative in a bid to get more local young people into hockey in 2017.

There are two different sessions for two different age groups, with a group for 8 to 12 year olds and a group for 13 to 16 year olds. Both are tailored for all abilities, from total beginners to those wanting to hone their individual or team playing skills.

Sessions take place at the School’s Eshtons Astro-turf on Raines Road. Those who attend are asked to bring shin pads and a mouth guard, but everything else will be provided including hockey sticks.

Mrs Wright said “I’m really pleased with how well attended the sessions have been and to see boys and girls from various schools making friends over the sport.”

Anyone wishing to attend should contact Hannah Wright on This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it. or 01729 893022 or simply turn up to Eshtons Astro-turf on Raines Road at Giggleswick School once times are finalised. Please check this page in the near future for the running times.

For those wanting to take part in Hockey over the summer, the School runs a week-long Hockey course for children aged 11 – 15. Prices vary depending on residential or day options and this year the Head Coach for the North of England Masters, Paul Evans, will be leading the course.
