The annual Singing and Speaking competition was held on Wednesday evening.

This year's theme was "7" and with only two weeks in which to work out their programme and rehearse, the Houses produced some creditable efforts, which thoroughly entertained a large audience of nearly 1000 students, parents, friends and staff.

The judges gave the overall winning house prize to Style who produced a beautifully choreographed whole house song/medley, "The River/The Cave/Ain't No Mountain High Enough" and an amazing small group rendition of "Wayfaring Stranger". The coveted audience prize, together with the small group prize and whole house sung prize went to Shute, whose performance on the theme of the Magnificent 7 was vocally excellent and very entertaining. Carr won the whole house spoken prize with their well-acted version of "The Rainbow Story". Catteral entertained the audience with a medley based on the "7 virtues" whilst the votes were counted.  Adjudicator John Arkell praised their performance and commented that they showed great promise for future events.

Thanks go to the judges John Arkell and Madeleine O'Reilly for their insightful and helpful comments and for taking the time to spend the evening with us.
