Despite the promise of heavy snow, 13 pupils from Junior and Senior Schools happily piled into a minibus early on Saturday 4 February and travelled to Fulwood near Preston for the first workshop session of this year's Association of British Choral Directors' Honour Choir.
Conducted by distinguished composer and conductor Bob Chilcott, the pupils had a fantastic morning learning some of the songs for this year's programme and the choir was singing from memory in 3 parts within an hour of arriving! Sadly, the arrival of snow meant that we had to leave early but we're all looking forward to the next rehearsal in April. Pupils taking part were: Clara Mondragon Bayarri (Y9 St), Felicity Brearley (Y8 Ct), Ti Evans, Frederica Hamilton Wheatley, Anna Mills, Wil Richmond, Will Rees-Jones (all Y7 Ct), George Collins Libby Driver, Eve Everhart, Grace Forsyth, Thomas Lothian and Harriet Phillip (all GJS).
