1st XV v Austin Friars (A) Won 45-15.
Scorers: Hickling (3), Fradgley (2), Holtam, Voigt. Cons: Davidson (5)
The game started off well with Giggleswick dominating territory and possession. From this we scored, yet we allowed them straight back into it by letting in a sloppy try. We started to get a little over complicated and tried to force it which resulted in mistakes and thus loss of momentum. After half time, we went out with clear aim of keeping it simpler, which resulted in fewer mistakes. Our support in the tackle area was good and broke them down through offloads and simple passing moves. We created many chances yet our execution of final ball and decision making let us down resulting in a very poor try to chances conversion rate. This said, scoring 45 points and an away win looks promising for rest of season. The effort and enthusiasm from every player right to the end was very pleasing. The whole team is looking forward to two training sessions this week and first home match (v. King Edward and Queen Mary, Lytham) on Saturday. Hugo Muller, Captain.

U14 XV v Austin Friars (H) Won 41-0

The U14s had a lot to live up to after their fantastic season as U13s last year. However, they got off to a strong stat and scored within the first 15 minutes with a well-worked try from a scrum by Jevin Robertson and Malik Hamrouni. Some big tackles from Henry Mitchell and Toby Brook led to more tries. Injuries allowed replacements to make their mark and David Clarke, playing in the Centre, broke through to score just before the final whistle. Harry Hancock, Captain.
