Match report:
The weather was bad up at chapel, at the start of the match, and it was not getting any better during the match, which made us, if anything, more determined. Winning the toss with the ‘lucky coin’ we made the first centre pass, then the first shot in our goal in the first few minutes. Trying to keep our throws under control and make them as accurate as we could led us to a 6-0 lead after the first quarter. Going back into the second quarter with the wind blowing harder and now starting to rain we didn’t lose our hopes, playing harder and making good space for each other. We didn't shoot as many goals as we had hoped, but we were still winning 10-0.
In the third quarter we let our concentration slip a little too much letting Barnard Castle shoot 5 goals making the score 15-5. Making sure that Barnard Castle wouldn’t come back and win, we only let them shoot 1 goal to our 4 making the final score 19-6. Everyone put in a top quality performance and players of the match were Ella Scott, Georgina Thursby and Becky Hurst.
