vs Chetwynde.

1st VII  Won
30 - 28

Match report:
The girls have had a tough season so far, coming up against some very strong opponents including Stonyhurst and Yarm.

However, the first team played some outstanding netball against Chetwynde, really picking up their game and showing the high standard of netball they are capable of playing.  Particularly showing how we can move the ball down the court with great speed and accuracy between our players.  Our shooters Amber Maudsley, Eleanor Thursby and Julia Griffiths were on great form hardly missing a shot throughout the whole match, also showing great movement and teamwork around the circle.  They moved the ball well around the circle edge with the centre court players Lucy Milbourn and Katherine Sharp having an awesome game and making a number of cracking interceptions down the court.

Our defence proved strong to play against with some great interceptions from Claire Marsh in the circle, along with Rachael Farthing and Georgia Birley showing great defensive skills in both thirds. By half time we were down by two goals with the score reading 13-15 to Chetwynde.
Following this the girls picked up their game and fought for every ball scoring 9 goals in the next quarter compared to Chetwynde’s 4.  Our fitness showed through as Chetwynde started to tire enabling us to regain the lead by 3 goals. The girls continued to play well during the last quarter and managed to hold off a strong Chetwynde side with a final score of 30-28 to Giggleswick.

The girls very much worked and played as a team throughout the game, with every player contributing.  This resulted in a well deserved victory.

Well done girls!!

2nd VII vs Windermere
Drew 18 - 18

Match report:
The 2nds had a successful match against Windermere with the final score ending 18 - 18. From the beginning of the game, everyone was showing 100% commitment. Even though we were 17-14 down by the end of the third quarters everyone showed full determination, right until the end. We played well as a team making sure that we marked players and called for the ball.  A special mention goes to Charlotte Clark-Brown and Steph Hill for their outstanding play. Also a big thank you to Ms Landon and Mrs Davidson for their support.
