Pupils normally take 9 or 10 GCSE subjects in Years 10 and 11.
All pupils take English Language and English Literature, Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, and, normally, a language (French, German or Spanish).
They also choose three subjects from:
Art, Design (Graphic Products), Design (Resistant Materials), Drama, French, German, Spanish, Latin, Geography, History, Home Economics, Music, Physical Education, Religious Studies. Only one type of Design GCSE can be chosen.
Pupils are encouraged to take two languages if they wish (French is not mandatory).

All pupils continue to have lessons in Information Technology, Citizenship, Personal, Social and Health Education, which includes Careers.
As far as is practical, we endeavour to accommodate the subject choices made by pupils; however, in spite of our best efforts, this might not always be possible.
