For nearly fifty years Richard was deeply involved in the life of Giggleswick.
Throughout that time nothing was dearer to his heart than performance. Whilst a pupil, he co-produced a number of plays directed by the late Russell Harty. As a Governor he continued to support music and drama at the School for over 25 years.
Thanks to the help of hundreds of parents, friends and former pupils the second phase of the Richard Whiteley Theatre has been completed as a fitting tribute to one of the School’s most active and flamboyant supporters.
