Admissions journey

1. Enquiry

If you would like to find out more about Giggleswick and are interested in your child attending then please do get in touch with us. Our Admissions Team would be delighted to answer any questions you may have, their contact details are below.

2. Arrange a visit

Following your initial enquiry or prospectus request, we encourage families to come for a personal visit, join us at an Open Day and meet teaching staff at our Sixth Form Information Evening. We believe this is the best way to get a real feel for the School; our stunning setting, first class facilities and kind and caring community. If you are unable to join us in person, a Skype interview with a senior member of staff can be arranged.

4. Register a place

Following your visit to Giggleswick, the first step is to complete and return a Registration Form, accompanied by a £165 registration fee.

Click here to complete a registration form.

3. Taster day

After registering a place for your child, you may want to arrange a taster day for them. If you would like to book a taster, then please contact our Admissions Team, their details are below.

5. Reports & interview

We like to meet any prospective sixth formers individually, either during a visit to the school or as part of a taster day with us. We will also require copies of the applicant’s last two school reports, predicted GCSE grades where available and we will request a reference from his/her current school.

For those wishing to join the Sixth Form, there is a minimum entry requirement of a Level 6 grade average at GCSE, with certain A levels requiring Level 7 grades at GCSE.  Students who do not have a GCSE background are assessed through interview, an essay, school reports and predicted grades from their current school.

For students who are not expected to meet the grade 6 profile average, or those preferring a more coursework-based programme of study, we offer a combination of a BTEC Level 3 Diploma plus an A level. For those taking a BTEC course we expect 4 GCSEs of grade 4 and above. If you are considering doing a BTEC alongside an A level, you will need to meet the subject requirement for the A level course.

6. Place offered

As soon as all reports, tests and interviews have been completed and reviewed by the Headmaster, an offer of a place can be made. On acceptance of a place, an entry deposit is required to secure the place. This amount is refunded, minus any accrued sundries, at the end of a pupil's career at Giggleswick. Visit our fees page to find out more.
