“I always wanted to experience life in a boarding school in England, which is why Giggleswick’s Senior Immersion Programme caught my attention. It offers the perfect opportunity to meet new people and to make friends, to get to know a new culture and traditions and to improve your English skills."
What to expect

The Senior Immersion Programme offers international students in Years 7-10 the opportunity to experience life at Giggleswick School – a leading British independent school with a proud history, outstanding reputation, and stunning location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales. Students join our vibrant boarding community and become part of the Giggleswick family, studying, socialising, and thriving alongside their peers.
The programme is designed to challenge and inspire, encouraging students to develop their academic and personal skills, and strengthen their English through meaningful experiences both in and beyond the classroom.
During their first week, students take part in a range of introductory and orientation sessions, helping them settle in and get to know school life at Giggleswick. As they gain confidence, they join lessons and activities alongside their peers, becoming fully integrated into their year group for the rest of their stay. Students enjoy a rich mix of experiences – from excursions and expeditions to traditional British sports and House events all leading to a memorable camping trip.

“How can they bear to tear themselves away from this happy place in the Yorkshire Dales?” Tatler Schools' Guide

“My daughter felt very welcome and very much loved - she gained a very good understanding of the English language and the English education system plus the entire experience of being part of a great team at a boarding school. I know that she had a hard time saying goodbye. However, she made great friends and will always look back with a special feeling."
How to apply
1. Apply
The first step is to complete the application form ‘Apply Now’ below. You should also send a copy of the pupil’s most recent school report, and a copy of their passport to admissions@giggleswick.org.uk.
2. Interview and Assessment Process
All students are required to complete an interview to assess their suitability for the Senior Immersion Programme. During the interview pupils will complete an assessment in English and upon arrival students will be assessed in Maths to ensure they are placed in the appropriate sets for their ability level.
Interviews are typically conducted via video call with the Programme Director, though pupils are very welcome to visit Giggleswick for an in-person interview if preferred.
We will also require a recent school report.
3. Acceptance
Once a student has been interviewed and we have received a school report, an offer of a place can be made.
Acceptance of the place should be made within 2 weeks of the date of the offer letter. On acceptance of a place, a non-refundable entry deposit of £750 is required to secure the place. The remaining amount will be due by 31st March 2026.
