Sports Day 2026 - a day of new records set

Senior School Sports Day Celebrates Athleticism, Teamwork and Community

This year’s Senior School Sports Day was once again a fantastic celebration of athleticism, courage, commitment, and community. With the weather holding and the sun making a welcome appearance, the event brought together pupils, staff, and families for a day of friendly competition and outstanding performances across a wide range of track and field events.

From the opening sprints to the final relays, pupils gave their all, demonstrating not only physical ability but also determination, teamwork, and sportsmanship. Each house provided enthusiastic support throughout the day, creating a vibrant and encouraging atmosphere for all involved.

The Victrix Ludorum awards were presented to Annie Scott, Mia McGoldrick, Camilla Hart, Sheba Brindsen, and Martha Hart in recognition of their exceptional all-round performances. The Victor Ludorum awards were awarded to Oliver Gill, Flynn Cartman, Toby Garrido, and Calum McGoldrick for their outstanding achievements across multiple events.

Several records were broken across the day:

• Mia  – Junior Girls’ 800m & 1500m
• Camilla  – Junior Girls’ 300m
• Calum  – Minos Boys’ 1500m
• Vincent– Junior Boys’ 100m
• Annie – Senior Girls’
• Carr – Open Girls’ 4x400m

The overall House Competition results were:

• Boys’ Competition – Morrison
• Girls’ Competition – Carr

The day concluded with the ever-popular Tug of War, where Paley & Carr emerged victorious in a thrilling and competitive finale.

Senior School Sports Day once again highlighted not only the strength of sporting talent within the school, but also the spirit, resilience, and sense of community that defines the event.
