Year 3 and 4 pupils enjoyed an adventure-packed residential to York. The trip began with the Wizard Walk of York, where pupils explored the city’s historic streets while being entertained by a lively mix of storytelling, magic and comedy that brought York’s heritage to life in a unique and engaging way.

The group then visited the National Railway Museum, taking part in hands-on exploration in Wonderlab and enjoying an exciting science workshop. Pupils also had the opportunity to explore the museum’s impressive collection of historic locomotives, making it a fascinating and interactive afternoon.

After checking into YHA York, pupils enjoyed a scenic riverside walk into the city for an evening meal at Pizza Express, followed by time exploring York’s famous city walls. The day concluded with a peaceful walk back along the river, hot chocolate, bedtime stories, and a well-earned rest.

Day two began with breakfast before an energetic and highly engaging drumming workshop led by professional musician Dave Boston from Blackbeard’s Tea Party. Pupils threw themselves into the session with enthusiasm, rhythm and teamwork, creating a truly memorable musical experience.

The residential concluded with a visit to Clip ’n Climb, where pupils showed great courage, determination and collaboration as they tackled a variety of climbing challenges.

Throughout the trip, pupils demonstrated excellent teamwork, resilience and enthusiasm, making the York residential a rich and rewarding experience full of lasting memories.
