Year 3 and 4 had an exciting visit to Stump Cross Caverns, Pateley Bridge to learn about life millions of years ago. Inside the caves, we discovered that they are made from sedimentary rock, which forms over millions of years from layers of sand and mud. We learned how fossils are formed and saw real examples, including dinosaur eggs and a huge megalodon tooth. Our favourite activities were the fossil dig and making ammonite fossils using clay. It was a fun and interesting day that helped bring our learning to life!
