We believe our school is a very special place and here you can explore what makes a Giggleswick education truly unique and why we are considered one of the leading boarding and day schools in the north of England.
Here, learning does not stop at the classroom door and we believe strongly in the benefits of a broad curriculum as well as providing further depth and enrichment through a range of activities, an extensive trips and events calendar, and residential experiences.
Our idyllic natural countryside setting gives life at Giggleswick a real sense of adventure, discovery and wellbeing. Outdoor learning, forest sessions and developing an appreciation of the natural environment are key aspects of our Pre-school and Junior School curriculum.
Giggleswick is a grounded, friendly and inclusive school full of northern charm with a healthy dose of northern grit too! The school prides itself on the partnerships and support we establish with parents, and the care we provide to our pupils, so that everyone in our community feels truly valued.
Our children are encouraged to be respectful of each other, our environment and our community. Our older pupils are all buddies to children in lower years and Pre-school, and there are many roles and responsibilities to provide service to the school. We encourage fundraising and support charitable causes, as well as appreciating the non-material aspects of life.
We provide every pupil with individual attention and support. Each child is encouraged to explore and find their talents and skills, through a range of opportunities and enhanced by specialist teaching. We encourage our children to be ambitious, and to develop a growth mindset and achieve their best.
One of the most distinctive aspects of a Giggleswick education is its focus on participation. We believe that children learn better when they are actively involved and this is a school where they are expected to take part in school events, activities and sports, regardless of their level of ability.
