Each Thursday, all Key Stage 2 pupils have an afternoon dedicated to enrichment and taking part in our co-curriculum. As with our Senior School, there is a focus on CAS (Creative, Action, Service) during this time, and the school is planning to develop a GJS Diploma which pupils will gain accreditation towards.
Pupils carousel between 4 specific activities over a period of a fortnight. These include:
Over the course of the year the children will also take part in community initiatives and supporting local causes, to deepen their understanding of the importance of service. A recent example of this has included work with local elderly residential settings. The school also takes part in range of fundraising events such as Children in Need, Anti-bullying Week, Race for Life and Fairtrade Fortnight.
Here, learning does not stop at the classroom door and we believe strongly in the benefits of participation across a wide range of activities. We organise regular trips and visits out of school to inspire their learning and expand their horizons.
