Giggleswick Runners Excel at National Cross Country Championships
Giggleswick School athletes Mia and Jack delivered outstanding performances at the National Cross Country Championships at Parliament Hill, London, on 22nd February.
Following strong results in Liverpool and Leeds, Mia and Jack represented the school on the national stage. Mia, already a winner at The Rawthey Run and The Catteral Shield, dominated the race, securing 1st place with a commanding lead. Jack, a GB and England athlete, also impressed, finishing 7th out of 200 runners, demonstrating his resilience in a highly competitive field.
Their success reflects Giggleswick’s strong running programme, which continues to develop top young athletes. This year alone:
- 8 pupils qualified for the English Schools Championships – the highest in school history
- 10 pupils reached the North Yorkshire Championships
- 6th place finish at the King Henry VIII Relays
- U13 Girls & Boys – multiple team wins across regional competitions
- Jack & Mia – podium finishes at the English Fell Running Championships, hosted at Giggleswick
These achievements highlight Giggleswick’s commitment to nurturing talent and competing at the highest levels.
