Our Commitment to Transparency and Long-Term Stability
In what is undoubtedly a challenging time for the independent education sector—with the introduction of 20% VAT on school fees, rising operational costs, and growing pressure on school budgets—many families are asking the same important question: Is my chosen school financially secure?
At Giggleswick School, we want to offer clear and open reassurance.
We are proud to publish our full Charity Commission report, openly available to all families, current and prospective. In doing so, we are committed to transparency and to showing that we are financially strong, well-prepared for future challenges, and confident in our long-term vision.
As one of the oldest independent schools in the North of England, our history is something we deeply value—but our future matters just as much. And while it saddens us to see other schools with proud legacies close their doors, we want to make it clear: Giggleswick remains open, stable, and thriving.
With a strong and forward-thinking leadership team, careful financial planning, and ongoing investment in pupils, staff, and facilities, we are well-positioned for the road ahead. Demand across our Pre-School, Prep, and Senior School remains high, and our commitment to an outstanding all-round education remains stronger than ever.
We also understand that affordability is a growing concern for many families. That’s why we’ve already made the decision to absorb VAT on school fees, protecting our families from the immediate impact and continuing to offer excellent value for money in the independent sector. We are incredibly grateful to our parents, alumni, staff, and wider community for their ongoing trust and support.
