Something extraordinary happened at Giggleswick Prep this morning! Year 1 and 2 pupils arrived for their literacy lesson, only to find a mysterious crash site in the playground—eerily similar to a strange incident reported by the BBC in Settle… 👀
With lessons ‘cancelled’ in favour of an urgent investigation, our young detectives leapt into action:
🔹 Created warning posters to keep the area safe
🔹 Sent an email to the BBC to report their discovery
🔹 Planned interviews with Mr Dawson, the first on the scene
This immersive experience is part of the CLPE 'Power of Reading' curriculum, designed to bring stories to life and make literacy both exciting and meaningful. By stepping into the role of investigators, pupils are developing key skills in writing, critical thinking, and teamwork—all while having fun with storytelling!
