Digital Leaders Robot Rumble

Saturday 24 Mar 2018

Young robot inventors from Giggleswick Junior School took part in a ‘Robot Rumble’ competition for local schools.

A number of pupils in Years 3 to 5 designed robots that could help in the future and created, photographed and described their inventions. Three Year 3 pupils were among the prizewinners - Ted Hargreaves won the Overall Children's Choice Award and Albert Denneny and Raffety Bush took away the Judges Choice for Key Stage 2.

The digital leaders from Years 3 to 5, Archie Clark, Toby Green, Joe Martin, Phoebe Cook and Martha Lloyd, attended the event held at Settle Primary School with teachers Steve Heap and Nicole McGoldrick.

The youngsters entered categories called ‘My Robot's Got Talent’ and the ‘Robot Cleanup Crew’ and enjoyed watching ‘Strictly Come Robot’.

The judges were from the STAR Centre in Keighley and the STEM ambassador from Rolls Royce.

Thanks to Settle Primary School for hosting the event.
