42 walkers set off from Giggleswick at 5am on Sunday 16 June to take part in the legendary Gigg2Gigg challenge, scaling the three highest peaks in Yorkshire - Pen Y Ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough in a 56km circuit to and from the school. This is not just any Three Peaks challenge, but a gruelling 16 hours of continuous walking with a total ascent of over 1,600 metres to test the limits of even the most experienced walkers.
Mark Turnbull said “This is a genuinely tough challenge for all concerned and it has been wonderful to see so many of our pupils keen to take part. Well done to all of you: you should feel proud of yourselves. Thanks also to everyone supporting the event with a lot of money raised for Ananda Marga Orphanage.”
