Positive result for ISI Inspection
Monday 14 Jan 2019
We were delighted to receive notification that both the junior school and senior school have passed the Independent Schools Inspectorate (ISI) Regulatory Compliance Inspection (RCI) following their visit in November. This compliance inspection focuses on procedures, policies and the National Minimum Standards for boarding schools and the outcome of the inspection is simply pass or fail.
In order to come to their judgement, the inspectors spent two days in school; observing lessons, talking to pupils, staff and governors, examining pupils' classwork and rigorously examining our policies, reporting and recording procedures. In addition, they looked at the responses to the parent, pupil and staff questionnaires that were sent out. Although not recorded in the report, the lead inspector was incredibly complimentary of the junior school, and particularly of the children and the provision they were given. It was also pleasing to read the findings of the parent, pupil and staff questionnaire in which just about every category received 100% positive outcomes.
Mr Mundell, Headmaster, said “This is a really positive result for the junior school but we certainly do not take this report as a ‘job done’. In 3 years’ time our next inspection will focus on our educational quality and we will continue to focus on improving the school to ensure this is excellent.”
