Rosslyn Park National Sevens Vase

Thursday 22 Mar 2018

Our U18 1st VII Sevens team narrowly missed out on qualification for the knockout stages of the Rosslyn Park National Sevens Vase yesterday, finishing runners-up in their group after three wins and one loss. The boys recorded victories over Burford School, Fullbrook School and Kind’s College Taunton, losing a close contest against eventual group winners Ampleforth College by two tries.

Director of Sport, Dan Cook, said: “We played some great sevens throughout the day with good shape and structure, but when the real pressure came against Ampleforth, we moved away from this and tried to play a bit too much as individuals rather than as a team. Three really good wins for us but the boys were disappointed not to have progressed.

Overall we’ve had a really good sevens season despite losing so many games to the weather and we secured two tournament wins. The team, especially the U6, have played very well indeed and should be proud of their efforts.”
