Tony Jefferies wins Lifetime Achievement Award

Tony Jefferies (C,65), ex-racer and motorcycle dealer has been awarded the British Dealer News (BDN) Lifetime Achievement Award 2017. With his younger brother, Nick (C,70), the Jefferies family is well-renowned in motorcycle racing and retailing. The Jefferies motorcycle dealership was founded in Shipley in 1917 and celebrated its centenary this year. In 1969 Tony started a stunning TT career, achieving six podiums in five years, including victory in three TTs.
Nick Jefferies (C,70) competed in the TT between 1984 and 2002 taking a total of 11 podiums during his career and winning the 1993 Formula One TT for Honda. Tony took on the BMW franchise in 1971 and in 1973 his race career ended following a serious crash. In 1995 Tony opened a BMW showroom in Shipley and in recent years, Tony’s daughter Louise has taken over the day-to-day running of the business. Today, Allan Jefferies is BMW’s longest serving dealer (46 years) and its biggest UK dealer.
