Headmaster's welcome

At Giggleswick Prep School we aim to inspire children, as well nurture and develop their talents from the youngest age. Our curriculum is very broad and offers pupils from Reception class up to Year 6 the opportunities to develop their skills and knowledge through the passion and expertise of specialist staff and facilities, making the most of our close ties to our Senior School.

This means all pupils benefit from a wide range of subjects such as team and general sports, Outdoor Education, Computing, Art, Design, Music, Drama, Mindfulness and two Modern Languages, alongside our core curriculum, ensuring that they are well prepared for Secondary Education. This is further enhanced by our Creative, Active, Service, Enrichment (CASE) programme which takes place each day so every pupil can further develop their individual talents, identify strengths and passions, but also support our Learner Profile – encouraging pupils to be aware, passionate, skilled, curious and assured young people.

Whilst our academic standards and pupil progress are excellent, a Giggleswick education is deeper than these outcomes. We value individuality and our core values of Ambition, Respect, Participation and Service are the golden thread which embodies everything we do.

Alongside this is our Wellbeing programme that is embedded into the curriculum, which carefully links to our PSHE (Personal, Social and Health Education) schemes, supports pupils in their personal development, and encourages them to be thoughtful, caring, and reflective, providing them with the foundations to excel in the next stage in their lives.

Giggleswick offers a unique education in a stunning location in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales, where children are given the time to be just that – children – and to grow and develop in a safe, nurturing environment, where everyone feels valued. Giggleswick is a close community, and we pride ourselves on our relationships with our parents so we can work together to ensure your child achieves their best.

James Mundell
Headmaster

“From the first meeting with Mr Mundell, I was instantly sold, and I just knew that this was the right place for our son. Watching him on the rugby pitch, or when he’s addressing parents, you can see he’s so invested in each child and that level of professionalism from him radiates down to the rest of the staff.”
