Outdoor fun & adventure

We love exploring the great outdoors every day, and making the most of our wonderful location. Our children enjoy welly walks and forest school activities, as well as pond dipping and growing their own fruit and vegetables in the school garden.

At Mill House we believe the more time children can spend outside, the better they understand their place in nature and how we affect our local environment. Outdoor play also helps build confidence and important team working skills.

Our stunning countryside setting

Mill House sits within the stunning grounds of Giggleswick School, perched on a hill with its own purpose-built facilities and homely atmosphere, a natural stream running through it and far reaching views across the beautiful Yorkshire Dales. It is a truly inspiring natural space to learn.

Children attending Mill House are very much part of the main school and we have access to the entire 215-acre campus, including Giggleswick’s extensive sports facilities, swimming pool, library, theatre and chapel. They eat their lunch in the main dining room, join school assemblies and participate in whole school events. We believe this integration makes for a smooth, natural transition into any school environment when they leave Mill House.

“How can they bear to tear themselves away from this happy place in the Yorkshire Dales?”
