Senior Immersion Programme
The Senior Immersion Programme returns to Giggleswick School in 2024.
International students aged 11-15 can join us in the stunning Yorkshire Dales to improve their English, make friends, have fun, and immerse themselves into life at one of the UK's leading boarding schools.
“My daughter had a wonderful stay and came back transformed. Thank you so much, I am very grateful!”
The Senior Immersion Programme will be open to international students in Years 7-10. Each student will be placed into one of Giggleswick’s boarding houses and will study, socialise, and thrive alongside the rest of our Giggleswick cohort of students.
Students will take part in an induction and a series of ‘English as an additional language’ (EAL) sessions during their first week. They will then be placed and ‘immersed’ into classes and activities with other Giggleswick students within their year group for the remainder of their stay. They will enjoy excursions and extracurricular activities, including our sports day and Giggleswick Gaggle: a whole school hike through the beautiful Yorkshire Dales.
Our Senior Immersion Programme will run from Sunday 2 June (arrivals from 14:00) to Friday 28th June 2024. The £5,600 fee includes:
- An organised welcome and airport transfer*
- All tuition costs with qualified Giggleswick members of staff
- Accommodation in the school’s traditional boarding houses
- A personalised programme for each pupil
- Orientation week with a Giggleswick member of staff
- All food - three meals each day and refreshments
- Full laundry service
- All travel arrangements on trips, and to and from activities
- 24-hour supervision and security from Giggleswick staff
*Inclusive airport pick-up from Manchester (MAN) on Sunday 2 June 2024 and drop off on Friday 28 June 2024. Other airports and dates may incur an additional fee.
Fees do not include flights.
Students may wish to bring a small amount of spending money for souvenirs.
“I am very proud of my son, and I am glad that he had the opportunity to gain new experiences. He has been very impressed with the school and the teachers. He has really enjoyed his time in Giggleswick.”
“Thank you for encouraging my daughter to explore new possibilities and experiences. This is a real surprise for me and very positive for her self-confidence!”
1. Register a place
The first step is to complete the registration form below, together with copies of the pupil’s last two school reports (translated into English), a handwritten personal statement by the child and a copy of their passport.
2. Entrance test
Students must complete our entrance test in English. This test must be taken under strict standards of supervision at the student’s present school, or at the offices of an agent/representative, or at Giggleswick during a visit to the school.
3. Visit or interview
Most interviews will take place via video call with a member of our International Admissions Team. However, we do also welcome pupils to visit Giggleswick in person for interview if this is the preferred option.
4. Place offered
Once a student’s reports, test and interview have been assessed, an offer of a place can be made. Acceptance of the place should be made within 2 weeks of the date of the offer letter. On acceptance of a place, an entry deposit of £750 is required to secure the place. The remaining amount will be due by 1st May 2024.
