Aspiring rugby players visit Sale Sharks
Ben Harris

It was a day to remember for our pupils on the Aspirational Sports Programme who visited Sale Sharks training base in Carrington last week. They were treated to a tour of the facilities and the opportunity to watch players training and preparing for their next match against Exeter Chiefs. This was a fantastic opportunity for them to observe the practice techniques of a professional team, including some real-life defensive moves being planned for the match against Exeter. At the end of the training session, captain Jono Ross invited the players to come and chat with the pupils and gave them the opportunity to take photos. Mark Wilson, one of England’s back row stars, gave an insight into his recovery from a knee operation and spent time talking to our aspiring rugby players. All the staff and players at Sale were very welcoming and the pupils really enjoyed their day in the life of a professional team.
