Scarret 2020
Sophie Clayton

Due to the restrictions of Covid-19, Scarret had a different look this year. Years 3 and 4, 5 and Year 6 have been taking part in cross-country in three different sessions in cohort bubbles, and so the annual Scarret followed this format.

The races were run in cool, overcast conditions and the course was soft underfoot. It was brilliant to see all the pupils putting in determined efforts to score points for their houses.

At the U9 level there was a great battle between Archie Mitchell who lead for all but the last 80m of the races to be pipped at the post by Alfred Walker, with Boe Evans following in third. Bethany Kay had a very strong run to win with Bailey Graham and Alexa Jones second and third respectively.

In the U11 boy’s race there was strong competition between the top three with Mylan Baladi just holding off James Galley for first place and Ed Walker close on his heels in 3rd. Lucy Cowin had a strong run to win the girl’s race some way ahead of Charlotte Denneny and Emilia Routledge who was third based on her strong time from the Y5 race.

Congratulations to Ingleborough House who won the overall Championships for this year!
