CAS Programme

The most distinctive aspect of a Giggleswick education is its focus on personal development and participation. The school is exceptionally good at discovering and developing an individual’s strengths, and, with a breadth of educational opportunities, nurturing the whole person.

Below our Senior Master, Neil Gemmell, will give you an overview of our CAS programme, which is our focus for co-curricular provision at Giggleswick, shaped around a balanced programme of creative, active, and service components.

There are also videos from our Director of Creative & Performing Arts, Gareth Warburton, as well as our Director of Sport, Ed Buck.

Neil Gemmell, Senior Master

“Gigg gave me so many opportunities and the confidence to try new things, from climbing in the French Alps, to performing with the school band in Germany.”Tom (Old Giggleswickian)

Gareth Warburton, Director of Creative & Performing Arts

“Being at Gigg has definitely helped me pursue my passion for music and it was the best experience winning Young Musician of the Year. I wouldn’t be where I am today without coming to Gigg. My teachers encourage me to believe in myself helping me achieve my goals.”Maddie (Year 13)

Ed Buck, Director of Sport

"Having sporty children, it was the diversity of sporting opportunities that attracted us to Giggleswick. It is competitive but nurturing, and win or lose, it is the performance that carries more importance. Differing sporting abilities are all catered for, encouraging children to find and succeed in what they enjoy, assisting in improving individual skills, knowledge and experience of sport whilst making it fun and a thoroughly enjoyable experience. My children have thrived at Giggleswick and an integral part of that has been the enjoyment of participating in all the sport it has to offer."

Parent of Katie (Year 13) and Will (Year 11)
